We don’t work with everyone.
And that’s not something we say to sound exclusive. It’s just true. We do our best work when the fit is right, and we’ve learned that taking on the wrong project doesn’t serve anyone well. So before we talk, we want to be straight with you.
Below are a few honest reasons someone might decide WestSky isn’t for them. Read through. If something resonates, we genuinely wish you well and mean it. There are good people out there who might be a better fit for where you are at.
But if you get to the bottom and still feel like we’re a good fit, we’d love to introduce ourselves.
Reason 1: You want the most affordable option.
We take on a small number of projects at a time because that is the only way to give each one what it truly deserves. Every author gets our full attention and we guard that carefully. If you’re looking for the cheapest path to publication, there are good options out there. We are just not one of them.
Reason 2: Quality isn’t a high priority.
We are craftsmen in an industry that rewards volume. That is a choice we made and one we stand behind. The authors we work with are not looking to simply self-publish. They want to produce something they are proud of for a long time. That is the only kind of project we know how to give ourselves to fully.
Reason 3: You don’t know your ‘why’.
You don’t need everything mapped out. But you do need a why. Something behind the work that is bigger than wanting a book. If you’re not sure what that is yet or not ready to explore it, this probably isn’t the right moment. Come back when it gets clearer. We’ll be here.
Reason 4: Our values don’t line up.
We work on projects that uphold truth, dignity, and the genuine good of the people they’re meant to serve. We live and work from a biblical worldview and that shapes what we say yes to. If your message works against those things, we’ll pass with respect and without any judgment.
